San Diego's Big Bay Boom on July 4, 2012 was meant to be a 17-minute fireworks show. Instead, around 7,000 shells went off at once from all four barges and the pier, and the whole display was over in less than a minute. Garden State Fireworks traced it to an error in loading the firing sequence: the computer file contained the full primary firing sequence twice, so the controllers fired everything as soon as the show started.
