Khan Academy is a nonprofit founded in 2008 by Sal Khan to provide free online learning for students and teachers worldwide. It began in 2004, when Khan tutored a cousin in maths online, then recorded lessons and posted them on YouTube. Today it offers short instructional videos paired with practice exercises, progress tracking and teaching tools across subjects from mathematics and science to history and computer science.
