Australian Wildlife Conservancy filmed a dingo hunting a group of feral pigs from the air, just outside the boundary of its Pungalina-Seven Emu sanctuary near the Gulf of Carpentaria. The dingo singled out the smallest pig in the group and eventually brought it down. AWC said that, as far as it knew, this was the first footage of its kind.
Feral pigs destroy habitat and compete with native wildlife for food, so the footage also shows the ecological role the dingo plays as Australia’s top land predator.
