On 5 May 2021, Starship SN15 flew to about 10 km, performed the flip maneuver, and became the first Starship prototype to land intact.
Earlier serial numbers had reached similar altitudes but exploded on or after landing; SN15’s soft touchdown was a major milestone for the program.
